Intended Use and Returns Policy
Every piece sold here is unique, its functionality variable on many factors and processes that were brought together to create its particular form. I try to be as informative as possible on the intended use of each piece in their product descriptions, as their durability, vitrification, and food-safety (to name a few) can vary across different styles. If you have any specific questions about your intended use of a piece, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at store@mateopahe.com, and I can provide you with my opinion before you purchase it.
If a piece is not stated as being functional-ware and you intend to use it as such, I suggest you consult the information provided carefully to determine whether your intentions are feasible and safe. In regards to safety, I particularly refer to the constraints of cleaning certain styles of work (i.e. obvara) properly in order to use them repeatedly with food or drink. I am not liable for any harm that may come from use of a piece, and as unlikely as this is, it can be avoided entirely by taking into account the information provided to you and asking questions where necessary.
Some styles of work (such as obvara), may have particular cleaning constraints, but can be re-fired quite easily and thus returned to the state they were purchased in. If you find that such a piece has become dirty or damaged and wish to have it re-fired, I may do so for a fee. In this case, you will be liable for any shipping costs, if applicable.
In the unlikely scenario that a recently purchased piece becomes damaged and/or rendered unusable through your use of it, you may be entitled to a partial or full refund. This will be determined upon whether your use of the piece is considered ‘reasonable’ in reference to the information provided in the product description or elsewhere. In this case, please get in touch at store@mateopahe.com and I will work with you to remedy the situation.
If you receive a piece and find that it is not what you expected, you may return it undamaged within 10 days of delivery and be given a full refund. In this case, you will be liable to pay any of the costs of return shipping, if applicable. If you find yourself unsatisfied with your purchase and wanting to return it, just get in touch at store@mateopahe.com.
All shipping is handled by a third-party provider and I am not responsible for pieces once they have been handed off to this provider. However, if a piece has been damaged during the shipping process, you may receive a partial or full refund. If a piece is received partially damaged, and you intend to keep the piece and continue with using it, you will be eligible for a partial refund. If a piece is damaged beyond reasonable use and you wish to receive a full refund, you will be liable to pay the return shipping costs. Once the piece is received in full by myself, your refund will be released to you. If you find your piece arrives to you damaged, please contact store@mateopahe.com with your specific case and I will work with you to remedy the situation.
